Material Safety Data Sheets:

A library of all chemicals and hazardous materials in use in Transition Projects facilities can be found by following the QR code below. These Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provide important information on the proper use, storage, disposal, clean-up for each chemical as well as exposure/care information.

Chemical Spills and Cleanup:

If a chemical spill occurs on-site, please follow these steps:

1) Immediately close off the area of the spill.

2) Notify both your program manager and the emergency services manager. If the chemical spill has reached a storm or sanitary drain, please explicitly mention this in your notifications.

3) Use the QR code above to look up the MSDS entry for the chemical.

4) Following the instructions in the MSDS entry, use your site's chemical spill cleanup kit to address the spill.

5) When in doubt, keep the area closed off and contact the emergency services manager for further assistance.

Safe Chemical Disposal:

If, for whatever reason, you need to dispose of chemicals at your site please do the following:

1. Use the QR code above to look up the MSDS entry for the chemical.
2. Follow the disposal instructions listed on the MSDS only if all disposal steps are achievable on-site. If disposal requires steps beyond your site’s capacity contact the emergency services manager.
3. When in doubt, do not dispose of chemicals until you have contacted the emergency services manager.
